To be eligible for specialist services, the person must have a documented need in one or more of the following areas:

  • Augmentative communication
  • Behavior and mental health symptom support to strengthen effective emotional and behavioral functioning and manage harmful symptom expression or conduct that could endanger self and others
  • Community safety training and support
  • Functional motor skills
  • Independent living skills
  • Personal health
  • Social, leisure and recreational skills.

Specialist services cover:

  • Assessments
  • Evaluation of service outcomes identified in the person’s support plan
  • Monitoring of specific program implementation
  • Program development
  • Training and supervision of staff and caregivers.

All of the functions listed above can be billed as either direct or indirect support.
